Edge Options for Custom Turkish Towels
Tying the Turkish Towel Tassel is a skill that is passed down from generation to generation, just as making the towels are. The tassel is the only ornament crafted that has lasted throughout history and they date back as far as the 14th century.
The Riviera Towel Company produces five different types of tassels:

We offer custom tassels on most all of our towels so you are able to choose any towel/ tassel combination, or if you prefer none at all. If your project requires straight edge seams we will finish each edge with a double lock stitch sewn seam for extra strength and durability.

Our Portofino towel is the perfect example of the hand sewn pom-pom edge. There's 13 pom poms per side and each is sewn on by hand.
Custom Color Tassels
The Sardinia is the perfect example of Colored Tassels, which are a rare thing becuase the warp thread bolt normally makes between 5-7k towels which is why most Turkish Towels have ivory or white tassels. We can produce custom color tassles for larger orders and on occassion we've produced colored tassels for special events.
Hand Tying Tassels
The warp threads are the long vertical threads the become the tassels on the ends of a Turkish Towel. The weft threads are the horizontial threads that give the towel it's color.
Hand tying Turkish towel tassels is a simple process that can be done in a few easy steps:First, take a length of thread or string and tie it tightly around the base of the tassel. This will secure the threads and prevent them from coming loose.Take another length of thread or string and tie it tightly around the first knot, leaving a tail of approximately 6-8 inches.Take the tail of the second knot and weave it through the threads of the tassel, creating a loop.Pull the tail of the second knot through the loop and tighten, creating a knot at the base of the tassel.Repeat this process for each tassel, making sure to tie the knots tightly and evenly spaced.Once all the tassels have been tied, fluff up each tassel by gently pulling on the threads to give it a full and fluffy appearance.By following these simple steps, you can hand tie the tassels on your Turkish towel and create a beautiful and secure finish. Straignt Edge Option
Straight edges are possible but like the red stitching on a base ball, it's just a ball with out them and the same holds ture for tassels, without them it does't look as much like a traditional Turkish Towel. However there are times when the straight edge comes in handy, especially for our hospitality clients who are more concerend with durabilitiy of commercial washings.
